Bicycle leaning against a road

A few simple habits make all the difference for safe and enjoyable cycling in the city and on the cycle path.

Before you set off

  • Wear a helmet and high-visibility clothing, especially at night.
  • Check your brakes, tyres and lights (white front, red rear).
  • Adjust your saddle and handlebars to the right height for comfort and control.

On the road

  • Ride predictably, hold a steady line and keep your distance.
  • Signal with your hand before turning or changing lane.
  • Watch for opening car doors and blind spots.
