The Roman Villa at Riza forms part of a larger architectural complex, preserved to a significant height as far as its vaulted roof. It is decagonal in plan, inscribed in a square of 8 x 8.20 m, and its interior is decorated with niches — four on the north and two on the south side — each surmounted by a relieving semi-circular arch.
The complex, covering some 2,000 square metres, lies on the east side of the Preveza peninsula, around 5,000 m from the natural harbour of Artolithia, and dates probably to the 3rd century AD. After the Roman destruction of the Epirot settlements, Roman entrepreneurs settled along these coasts and invested in animal husbandry; the ruins of another Roman villa survive at Strongyli, southwest of Rogi Castle.
